About Our Organization

What does Big Brothers Big Sisters Do?

Since 1975, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee has been the premier provider of youth mentoring services in Waukesha and Milwaukee counties.  Our one-to-one and group-facilitated mentoring programs address the needs of children facing adversity by creating, fostering, and supporting strong one-to-one relationships between youth and caring volunteer adult mentors.

What is Bowl For Kids' Sake?

Bowl for Kids’ Sake is one of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee's longest runnning fundraisers - held successfully for more than 30 years! Each spring, with hundreds of other Big Brothers Big Sisters chapters around the country, we provide several opportunities to come out and bowl to support our cause. Companies and individuals can even use these events as team/community building programs, and make a BIG impact in the lives of youth in the Milwaukee and Waukesha areas.

How does bowling help Big Brothers Big Sisters?

When you participate in Bowl for Kids' Sake, you have the power to change lives for the better, forever. We depend on the money raised through Bowl for Kids' Sake to carry out the work of carefully matching children with caring adult mentors and providing ongoing support to the child, volunteer mentor and child's family. Today you can Register or Donate to our efforts to build futures for local children facing adversity.

How a Big becomes a Big—and a Little, a Little.

Before we make a match, we do our homework. After someone expresses an interest in becoming a Big, they go through a background check and careful interview process. Then we match Bigs and Littles based on location, personalities and preferences. And we provide full support from the start, so matches can grow into lasting, impactful friendships. The entire matching process is made possible through donations—we can't do what we do best without them!
